The Meyer Treatment Center (MTC) is a nonprofit mental heath clinic dedicated to providing the highest quality clinical services at an affordable cost to people from Washington, DC and the surrounding communities. The staff provides approximately 10,000 patient visits a year. Clinical services include individual, group, couples and family psychotherapy. Psychiatric evaluations and medication consultations are also available.

Affiliation with the Washington School of Psychiatry (WSP) affords the Treatment Center access to and involvement in state of the art thinking and enables MTC clinicians to continuously enhance their skills and understanding of therapeutic theories and methods. The Treatment Center also provides students in WSP programs with opportunities to see patients through the Treatment Center and to integrate clinical theory and practice under close supervision by WSP faculty.

The MTC staff has an average of fourteen years clinical experience. They are capable of providing short- and longer-term psychotherapy and treat a broad range of psychological difficulties. The international staff can provide therapy in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Hebrew and numerous other languages and is sensitive to a variety of cultural factors, including but not limited to race, ethnicity, class, gender, and sexual orientation.

Fees

The MTC is committed to providing patients with access to mental health care. Psychotherapy fees, therefore, are determined on a sliding scale with consideration of each person's financial circumstances. While many insurance plans cover most or part of these fees, insurance coverage is not a requirement for receiving treatment at MTC. Many Center patients receive no mental health insurance benefits.
