INTRODUCTION
It is not the fruits of scientific
research that elevate man and enrich his nature, but the urge to understand, the
intellectual work, creative or receptive. Albert Einstein “Although psychodynamic psychotherapy is an approach to the
treatment of children and adolescents that is widely taught and practiced,
efficacy research has been limited to a handful of studies that could easily
escape the notice of busy practitioners and academicians...clinicians need good
research to better define what works and for whom...The work of our European
colleagues, Fonagy, Trowell and Muratori, suggests that researching
psychodynamic psychotherapy for children and adolescents suffering from
psychiatric disorders and from adverse life events is productive.”
Rachel Ritvo, M.D., AACAP News September/October 2006 In this conference current relevant
research findings will be
presented and discussed. Core
dynamic principles will be explored through the use of clinical vignettes.

augments the clinicians knowledge base.
