Immersion Training: Working with the Fragile Patient

This program was presented on October 1-3, 2007

Presented by Jon Frederickson, MSW, Faculty Member and Co-Chair of the Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP) Program at WSP

1-3 October 2007, Monday through Wednesday

In this immersion training, Mr. Frederickson will give an extended presentation on the theory and technique of working with fragile patients. This will be followed by line by line analysis of the process in working with fragile patients. Emphasis will be placed on how to develop the ego adaptive capacity of the fragile patient and how to assess ego adaptive capacity. Special attention will be given to restructuring projection and other regressive defenses. Anyone working with severely depressed, panic disordered, "borderline," somatizing, or addicted patients will benefit from this presentation.
